These full-day workshops are designed for teachers and staff members who have completed the Kindergarten Year 1 Core Curriculum training. Each of these sessions offers participants a chance to learn about a unique aspect of the Tools of the Mind curriculum in greater depth and detail.

K Beyond the Core: Supporting Self-regulation and Social Skill Development

Are you looking for new ways to encourage more positive classroom interactions? This workshop provides strategies and supports for building strong teacher-child and child-child relationships. Examine more closely the ‘power of partners’ and the Tools of the Mind approach to grouping and creating teams to support the development of self-regulation, and set up a culture of peer scaffolding. Participants will join with other teachers in the region to discuss how intentional work on building positive friendships sets the stage for school success, and how to communicate and partner with parents to support the development of these critical skills. Participants will leave with an action plan in place, for addressing ‘hot spots’, partner with parents and foster increase positive social interactions in their classrooms.

These continuing education workshops are designed for teachers, paraprofessionals and related support staff who have completed the Kindergarten Year 1 Core Curriculum training with Tools of the Mind – Year 2 implementers and beyond!
